E’din Cafe
What it is: Your go-to spot for coffee and bubble waffles (!!)
Why we love it: ICYDK, bubble waffles — or gai daan zai in Cantonese — are a popular street food in Hong Kong and we can see them blowing up over here, too. E’din Cafe serves the puffy pastries, along with coffee and lots of other delish menu items. We’d go with the churro style, personally.
Where to find it: 9550 Midlothian Tpke #117 (North Chesterfield)

Good Ship Brewing & Eatery
What it is: A new craft brewery and restaurant that opened in downtown Hopewell
Why we love it: Good Ship Brewing & Eatery marks this neighboring city’s first brewery after a long-planned effort by local owner Donnie Barber. It’s about 30 minutes from downtown Richmond, but after your mini road trip, you’ll be rewarded with in-house craft beers, a full food menu, and a laid-back, welcoming atmosphere, complete with a beer garden. Stop and hang out a while — it’s designed for that.
Where to find it: 204 E Cawson St (Hopewell)

Monster Mini Golf
What it is: A glow-in-the-dark, monster-themed indoor entertainment venue at Regency Mall
Why we love it: Perfect for exploring during this season’s frigid temps, this massive playground of sorts features an 18-hole mini golf course with animatronic creatures, two mini-bowling lanes, arcade games, and party spaces. While the kiddos will love it, it really looks like a good time for whoever’s in your cabin fever crew.
Where to find it: 1420 N Parham Rd SPC K220 (Regency)

SetBreak Brewing Company
What it is: A fixture on Scott’s Addition’s brewery scene, operating out of Black Heath Meadery
Why we love it: This collab between Black Heath Meadery owner Bill Cavender and longtime brewer Rob Quicke (formerly of Anytime Beer Company) takes inspo from a set break in music — meaning that point where you could use a nice, cold-and-crispy bev. The experience duo is adding “classic, thoughtfully made” beers to the Richmond rotation, with a full brewery rollout planned for this month.
Where to find it: 1313 Altamont Ave (Scott’s Addition)

The White Magnolia Bridal Collection
What it is: A nationally recognized bridal boutique opening its first Virginia location in February
Why we love it: If you’re still coming down from the most popular time to get engaged, congrats and The White Magnolia Bridal Collection may be a primo spot for you to say yes to the dress. The small-but-mighty store specializes in exclusive designer gowns and private fittings, and its Richmond location will exclusively offer Amborella Bridal veils, which, yes, you’d stun in, GF.
Where to find it: 1427 W Main St (The Fan)
