Hang

What it is: A new concept by our tried and true friends from LUNCH. | SUPPER!

Why we love it: The vibes are casual, and there are $3 beers, $5 tacos, and $8 cocktails to be had. What’s not to love, really?

Where to find it: 1215 Summit Ave (Scott’s Addition)

Deeper Dive

What it is: Much more than a new dessert shop

Why we love it: Deeper Dive serves ice cream and other sweet treats, with chef Joseph Gleeson at the helm. In other words, you’ll find a focus on house-made deliciousness here, which adds something especially special to downtown’s Richmond’s food scene.

Where to find it: 16 E Main St (Downtown)

What it is: A space for us to lean fully into our Spicy Sweet Chili Doritos obsession

Why we love it: This mouth-watering concept originally caused a buzz around the DMV, doling out its viral walking tacos, including heaping servings of piping-hot halal meat, and all the fixings, atop customers’ choices of chip, BYOB style. FWIW, we’ve tried to stop by, and the line to order gets long. But we’ll be back to wait it out now that we’re better prepared.

Where to find it: 1080 Virginia Center Pkwy Suite 101 (Glen Allen)

What it is: A food truck expanding its fruity offerings into a brick-and-mortar

Why we love it: This spot — brought it us by a local mother-daughter duo — will serve acai bowls, breakfast and lunch sandwiches, plus coffee and desserts. But for you fans of the OG food truck, never fear — it’ll still make appearances out and about as the storefront builds up operations.

Where to find it: 2105 Academy Rd Ste J (Powhatan)

Elsie Frieda

What it is: A formerly online-only jewelry and accessories shop that just got a storefront

Why we love it: Elsie Frieda is known for its colorful statement pieces made with African vinyl beads sourced through women bead brokers in Ghana. But it’s not just Richmonders who are obsessed — the brand grew big-time after it appeared on Netflix’s Outer Banks and has quite a celebrity base of fans, including Lizzo, Katy Perry, and Viola Davis.

Where to find it: 5804 Grove Ave (Westhampton)
