What it is: Where we hope to get our The Baby Sitters Club (and Runts?!) fix ASAP
Why we love it: Nostalgia is back on the shelves. Monster Video is stocking VHS tapes, DVDs, Blu-rays, and even VCRs for anyone missing the video store era. Pop by for a Blockbuster-style evening the next time you’re due for a movie night.

What it is: An American neighborhood kitchen by Lindsey Food Group
Why we love it: When Mike Lindsey and Kimberly Love-Lindsey are cooking things up, we know it’s gonna be good. Love's Public Kitchen brings a more casual, California-inspired comfort food menu to the table with dishes like jambalaya pasta, avocado egg rolls, and French onion meatloaf, plus cocktails and beer from Blackwell & Brainstorm Brewery.

VITCO
What it is: Another wide-open container-based space to get your food-and-bev-live-music fix
Why we love it: Virginia Transit Company (VITCO) has officially opened near the Diamond District, bringing a new outdoor bar, restaurant, and entertainment space built from colorful shipping containers. Inspired by its sister concept in DC, the venue plans to add a restored Richmond streetcar that will serve as a stage and DJ booth, alongside other expansions. For now, grab some Southern California-style Mexican food from El Camino, enjoy a full bar, and catch the game on a massive LED screen.

What it is: The best way to celebrate our best girl
Why we love it: Richmond’s largest block party is back to kick off the month wiht live performances from diverse local indie artists, food, drinks, maker booths, and nonprofit spotlights. Get in on the partying, all in the name of the rich history and creative energy of Shockoe Bottom and the River City at large.
