Browse our latest city guides and keep scrolling for a highly curated list of the best events, festivals, and happenings in and around Richmond, Virginia. Looking for family-friendly things to do? Hop over to The Family Calendar.
Fall officially begins Tuesday, September 22, but the start to Richmond’s fall festival scene kicks off even earlier (TG!), full of folk music, pumpkin-peeking, sparkling lights, and more.
Experience the spirit of the world's largest folk festival right here in our area — no need to travel to Munich!
When you need a change of scenery, it’s nice to have another location where you can set up your laptop, grab a drink, and not worry about trying to also get laundry done while you’re working.
There is something about farm-fresh and handmade goods that just can’t quite be replicated from big box stores or online shopping.
If you’re in need of a greasy meal or a healthy fix, we’ve got you covered with this list of hangover remedies.
Sure, there’s nothing wrong with ordering a vodka soda, but every once in a while, it’s nice to let someone else do the shaking and stirring.
Self-care looks different for everyone. Sometimes it’s a fresh haircut, sometimes it’s a facial, and sometimes it’s sitting in a float tank doing absolutely nothing.
Our food scene is anything but basic — yes, even when it comes to salads. Whether you’re craving something nutritious or it’s hot AF and you need a refreshing meal, here’s the rundown on where to get the best salad in Richmond.
The sun is shining, the birds are chirping — and you and your book deserve some fresh air.
Whether you want to lift heavy, hang from the ceiling, climb a wall, or sweat it out in a heated room, there’s a membership in this city that fits your personality and your schedule.

Wilkommen!
The 21st Annual St. Benedict Oktoberfest will again be three days!
So, get your dirndls and lederhosen ready and mark your calendars for September 18, 19 and 20!
This annual parish-sponsored event was initiated in 2005 and has grown into a much-anticipated Richmond festival every September.
The enthusiasm shown by our parish and parish school, in addition to our brother-sister Catholic secondary schools (Benedictine College Preparatory and Saint Gertrude High School), and Richmond community has fueled the success of this event.
Chosen due to the strong German roots of our parish, this German-themed celebration allows attendees the opportunity to enjoy German music, dancing, food, and their beverage of choice.
All proceeds from Oktoberfest are used to support Catholic education at the Catholic Schools historically associated with Saint Benedict Parish.
Check out our website for more information, including music schedule, events and more!

The Sauerkrauts – (12:00pm – 3:00pm)
The ACCA Temple (Shrine) Sauerkrauts German Band was formed in 1976 by Philip Johnson, then Potentate of ACCA Temple, with the assistance of a fellow ACCA Band clarinet player, Robert Ashworth. They play to raise funds for the 22 Shriner’s Hospitals where children are treated for orthopedic and burn conditions with no financial responsibility to the family. All net proceeds collected by the Band go either directly to the Shriner’s Hospital Foundation or into the Transportation Fund which is used to get the children and their families to and from the Hospitals

GERMAN-STYLE BEER
Oktoberfest – A blended style of Märzen and Fest Bier creates a perfectly malty lager with just a touch of sweetness. Created to pair perfectly with a Liter Stein.
Kölsch – A classic light German-style ale that is pale yellow with a slight hop bitterness. A very approachable and fest worthy brew!
Roggenbier – A dunkelweizen made with rye rather than wheat, but with a bigger body and light finishing hops. Flavors of spicy rye, pumpernickel bread, and a bit of malt sweetness.
Brewski – A German-style Dortmunder that is light, crispy, and easy drinking.
THE FOOD
Flavor Chariot (12:00pm – 7:00pm) – Flavor Chariot is a regular here at the brewery. They will be bringing the German-flavor heat with a variety of grilled meats and classic dishes.
