Maymont Bier-Garden
Wear lederhosen, a dirndl, or just come as you are, and toast to fall with friends and family at Bier-Garden on the Carriage House Lawn at Maymont. This two-day German-style festival brings the spirit of the world’s largest folk festival to Richmond, where revelers of all ages can enjoy lively music, German folk dancers, yard games, and an authentic Marketplatz featuring local vendors with artisanal treats and gifts. But that’s not all: There’s also a Kinderzone with crafts, games, entertainment, and more for the kiddos, and DJ BearBonez will spin festival tunes all aft, alongside performances by juggler Jonathan Austin, the Hirschjager dancers, and Fritz’s Polka Band. Plus, don’t miss the dachshund costume contest and parade, hosted by the Dachshund Enlightenment Foundation.
BTW: Bier-Garden admission also includes entry to the Robins Nature Center from 11:30 am to 5 pm, offering you and your group an opp to explore and learn about other parts of Maymont’s expansive grounds — in between bites of Bavarian pretzel, ofc.
Location: 1700 Hampton St (Maymont)
