BY KELSEY HEINTZ

For as long as Paige and I do what we do with this biz, you’re going to hear us say we have dream jobs — heavy on the “dream.” I pretended to be a technical writer for years before working for The Richmond Experience, and while I could still write you a mean step-by-step process for just about anything, conversational writing about topics I like having conversations about is moreso my comfort zone. (No offense, semantic interoperability.)

In any style of writing, though, finding the right voice is one of the major tasks at hand, and it’s one I’ve been coming back to a lot this year especially, as Paige and I have seated ourselves at the front desk(s) over here. It’s awesome, but also, just as truthfully, it’s HARD. I overthink and I’m sensitive as hell; I don’t want to say or hear something shitty, and with that, a lot of doubt can creep in.

But looking back at the year as a whole, things feel a lot less sweaty, and that’s largely in part because of you, our dearest of the dear readers. This li’l corner of the WWW has racked up nearly 250,000 pageviews over the past 12 months. We’ve cooked up more than 100 City Guides and more than 100 Weekly Insider newsletters, and *you’ve* taken time out of your busy lives to snack on those morsels of content and lots more. It’s got our hearts bursting. We quite literally could not do this all without your support, and we hope you know how much we appreciate it.

Below, we’ve done our roundup thing, and highlighted lots of this year’s faves for you to feast your eyes on again, if you’d like. And in the year ahead, we’re looking forward to putting together more recipes for you — some new, some tried and true. We can’t wait to see you at the table time and again. Thank you for reading along with us, and as always, if you want us to whip up something, in partic, we’ve got our eyes peeled for you here and there.
