Busch Gardens Christmas Town
I’m a huge Busch Gardens fan, and Holly and I are season pass holders — but honestly, the real magic is Christmas Town. The moment you arrive, it’s impossible not to feel instantly happy. Picture over 10 million lights, 20+ rides, and countless shows to enjoy. Holly and I always do the wine tasting trio, sipping wine from around the world while strolling through the twinkling lights. It’s only an hour from Richmond, and we try to go at least three times each season to soak it all in.

Giants: Art from the Dean Collection of Swizz Beatz & Alicia Keys
Now on view at VMFA through March 1, 2026, Giants is a gorgeous display to take in! I went to the preview party and got to see Alicia Keys and Swizz Beatz in person — it was incredible. But the real star? The exhibition itself. Featuring over 130 works by 40 Black artists from Africa, Europe, the US, and the Caribbean, Giants showcases everything from legendary photographers to rising stars. Each piece is monumental in scale, story, and impact. Step inside, get inspired, and experience a collection “by the artist, for the artist, with the people.” I already have plans to go back.

The Brooklyn
If you know me, you know I’m a big fan of Lost Letter and Lillian — so when the same owners opened The Brooklyn in Scott’s Addition, I had to check it out. Cozy, low-lit, and full of high spirits, this spot delivers all the perfect date-night vibes. Wood-fired bites? Check. Fantastic cocktails? Check. Top-notch wine selection? Absolutely. This one’s a must-visit!

GBS Holiday Gift Pack
I originally picked this up after seeing the Chocolate Peppermint Stout (my holiday fave!) was back in rotation this season, but let me tell you what: Fluffy GBS is the star of this show. It’s got flavors of sweet, smooth, and light marshmallow layered on top of the iconic Gingerbread Stout formula, making for an extremely delicious brew to cozy up with while you, say, swoon over Jimmy Stewart in It’s A Wonderful Life. Or whatever.

Pump It Up
One of my kiddos was invited to Pump It Up for a classmate’s birthday party, and with the recent closing of our neighborhood Sky Zone, I was excited to see what the jumping spot had in store. The shindig’s guests were treated to multiple spacious rooms to run around, each complete with various massive bounce houses, disco balls, slides, and more. It’s a fantastic way to burn off some of that cabin-fever energy during these colder months.
