I hope you are doing well! My name is Chyna Nyarku, and I serve as the Development Operations Specialist for HomeAgain Richmond. We are a nonprofit that provides emergency shelter, community housing support, case management, and long‑term stabilization services for thousands of individuals including mothers, children, and veterans experiencing homelessness throughout Richmond City and the surrounding counties.

I am reaching out because HomeAgain hosts two major fundraising events each year: Shindig for Shelter in the spring and Hops for Hope in the fall. These events are essential to sustaining our programs and ensuring families in crisis have access to safe shelter, supportive services, and a pathway toward stability.

This year, Shindig for Shelter exceeded its fundraising goal by $3,000, thanks to the generosity of local partners and supporters! Now, as we prepare for Hops for Hope, we are just $3,000 short of reaching our annual fundraising target. Closing this final gap would allow us to fully fund the services and support our families rely on every day.

Hops for Hope will take place on Thursday, September 25th at Triple Crossing – Fulton. It is a community‑centered evening featuring craft beer, food, cornhole, music, a silent auction, and time with people who care deeply about Richmond. The event also introduces new supporters to HomeAgain and highlights the impact of our work.

For this year’s silent auction, we are curating dining, hospitality, and experience‑based packages. Because The Richmond Experience has deep connections with local restaurants, gardens, entertainment venues, and experiential businesses, we are hoping to partner with you to identify businesses that may want to stand with us as donors or sponsors.

We are seeking contributions such as gift cards, dining certificates, tasting experiences, private tours, family passes, activity packages, or any experiential offering that aligns with Richmond’s vibrant culture! These items help us build strong auction packages that bring visibility to local businesses while directly supporting families experiencing homelessness.

All contributions are tax‑deductible, and donors receive a formal acknowledgment letter with our EIN for their records. To include partners in our event promotion, we kindly ask that donations be received by September 18th.

Your support would make a meaningful difference and help us continue providing shelter, stability, and hope to families each year.
