The Philadelphia Quarry Club
Did you know there’s a giant swimming quarry hidden in Windsor Farms? The Philadelphia Quarry Club is a swim club built around a former granite quarry that reportedly got its name because it supplied stone used to build Philadelphia’s City Hall. The catch is that it’s a private, members-only club, so you’ll need a membership or an invite from someone who has a coveted spot on their VIP list.

Agecroft Hall & Gardens
Plane ticket to England not in the budget? No problem, because we’ve found the next best thing. Agecroft Hall, a stunning 16th-century Tudor manor, was literally taken apart in England, shipped across the Atlantic, and rebuilt in Richmond in the 1920s. NBD! Wander through its pretty gardens, sprawling lawn, and wooded trails overlooking the James and live out your Bridgerton fantasy.

City Hall Observation Deck
It may sound crazy to hit up City Hall for a good time, but hear us out. After being closed to the public since 2020, the 18th-floor observation deck is finally reopened, giving panoramic views of Richmond completely free of charge. It’s open weekdays from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., weather permitting. No reservation is required; just head through security, take the dedicated elevator up, and enjoy the scenery.

Pssst! There’s a secret speakeasy tucked away in Ballast above Slack Tide Fish Co. Visit the host stand to get your name on the list and wait to be led to the hidden-in-plain-sight doorway. Once upstairs, you can enjoy craft cocktails, French-inspired small plates, and a cozy hunting lodge vibe.

The Poe Museum’s Enchanted Garden
Sure, everyone knows about the Poe Museum, but what about the Enchanted Garden behind it? The garden, inspired by the poem To One in Paradise, was created in 1922 as a memorial to Poe. Naturally, it’s moody, romantic, and a little bit gothic. But let’s not forget the most important part: Tib and Edgar, the museum’s resident cats, who may or may not grace you with their presence.
