6 Outdoor Spots to Work Remotely When You Need Some Fresh Air
BY THE RVAX TEAM
The bees are buzzin’, river days are approaching, and the weather is giving. Spring Fever is in full force! This means it’s time to get outside, and let your creativity bloom with the flowers while you work.
We’ve rounded up a few spots to work remotely outside so you can make the most out of your spring- and summer-time days. Just keep in mind: Don’t overstay your welcome but do show some appreciation to your baristas and servers by tipping generously if you plan on staying a while.
Common House
Common House is a top spot for working outdoors. They’ve got a beautiful rooftop space and courtyard that’s perfect for crunching numbers, catching up on emails, and taking care of business. Not only is the Common House inviting, but there are plenty of opportunities for networking while you’re here, too.
Bonus: They’ve got free coffee and WiFi (one of the many perks of membership).

The Daily Kitchen & Bar
The Daily offers an outdoor patio perfect for grabbing a glass of wine or a mocktail while you work. We’ve dropped by to get some writing done when the weather is calling our name and we have too much to do to straight-up play hooky.
Location: 2934 W Cary St (Carytown)

Brambly Park
Brambly Park’s covered outdoor patio space is optimal when you need to see your computer screen but you also want some fresh air. We recommend heading here to finish your workday so when you close your laptop, you can enjoy the acres of green grass and trees right when you’re done. They also frequently have live music!

Best Cafe
The VMFA is not just a place for art lovers — it’s also a great destination for those who work remotely and need a change of scenery. Its on-campus Best Cafe offers an ideal work environment with free WiFi and a peaceful atmosphere. The outdoor patio allows remote workers to stay productive while enjoying the beauty of the museum’s Sculpture Garden.

The Pit & the Peel
The Pit & the Peel rooftop is a casual and inviting spot to work. There’s limited seating; however, if you arrive early, you won’t need to compete for a spot. They serve smoothies, bowls, and a variety of vegan menu items if you need to break for lunch at any point.
Location: 1210 W Main St (The Fan)

Libbie Mill Library
Libbie Mill Library is spacious and beautiful on the inside, but its outside working option is something to note, too. The north-facing, shaded patio overlooks the two-acre lake and has plenty of rock-bench seating for you to enjoy while you listen to the nearby fountains and check a few things of your to-do list.
