10 Nearby Farms Where You Can Pick Your Own Produce
BY JULIA RAIMONDI
There’s something to be said about the quality of fresh-picked produce. Those apples are a tad bit crisper, those strawberries a little sweeter, those flowers a little brighter. Maybe it’s from the effort and satisfaction of picking it yourself. Maybe it’s also from the memories we make. If spending the day outside with your friends or family enjoying nice weather and nature’s bounty sounds pleasing to you, you’re in luck. The Richmond area boasts many farms and orchards that open their gates across all seasons for guests to pick their own fruits, veggies, and flowers.
Note: Please be sure to double-check each spot’s website and/or social media channels to confirm hours and produce availability, as each are subject to change!
