Please come out to The Autism Society of Virginia's Duck Race event! The Festival of Inclusion is a free, sensory-friendly festival designed to accommodate individuals with autism and other developmental disabilities. Open to the public, the festival will feature live music, local vendors, delicious food, and so much more! Zoned areas throughout the festival will offer fun activities for the whole family, and highlight the incredible work that local organizations are doing to make Richmond a more inclusive city. Providing an educational resource for our community is the largest component of Virago Alley’s mission as a non profit organization. We were thrilled to receive the call from @rvalibrary Westover Hill’s branch to create a historical display and to provide children’s fencing demos for their September 20th Renaissance Faire & Market! Huzzah! The Hills of Westo’er Library invites you to a full day of merrymaking fit to delight kings, queens, and fair folk of all ages at our Fall Festival Renaissance Faire. This family-friendly event will have activities for everyone with Virago Alley providing historical displays of crafts, tools, and weapon demonstrations. Perchance you will find a trinket you desire from one of the merchants selling their wares. There will be crafts, face painting, and a prize contest for best Faire attire!

Parking will be very limited.

Toast the fall with friends and family at Bier-Garden on the Carriage House Lawn at Maymont! This two-day German-style festival is the perfect way to join in the world’s largest folk festival without traveling to Munich!  

Wear your lederhosen or dirndl, or come as you are! Revelers of all ages will find a festive scene with lively music, German folk dancers, yard games, and an authentic Marketplatz featuring local vendors selling artisanal treats and gifts. Bring the kids for an afternoon of crafts, games, entertainment and more in the Kinderzone.  

On the entertainment stage, DJ BearBonez will spin festival tunes all afternoon, with performances by juggler Jonathan Austin, the Hirschjager dancers and Fritz’s Polka Band. Don’t miss the dachshund costume contest and parade, hosted by the Dachshund Enlightenment Foundation.  

Bier-Garden admission includes entry to The Robins Nature Center from 11:30am-5pm, so you may explore and learn while you're at Maymont!

PrideFest 2025

Virginia’s largest celebration of the LGBTQ community returns on Saturday, September 27 at Midtown Green (Formerly Bon Secours Training Center)! Free festival featuring star studded entertainment, more than 150 vendors, food, fun, and fabulousness!

Saucy Santana, an American rapper known for his viral hits will headline Pridefest 2025.

Santana will join trans pop singer Mila Jam, club icon Kevin Aviance, and RuPaul Drag Race star Aja as national acts who will entertain crowds.

Local bands What’s Our Age Again, the Chapstix, and Teshia LeSane and Sound, as well as local drag legends, and Latin Ballet of Virginia will perform on the main stage. Virginia Ballroom Alliance will end the night with a dance party.

Allianz Youth Pride Pavilion is back and bigger than ever, featuring musical and theatre acts, interactive entertainment like lip sync and karaoke contests, and special youth-themed drag performances – all on its own big stage.

Community partners, including the Science Museum of Virginia, Side by Side, The Children's Museum of Richmond, and He, She, Ze and We will have special programming and activities for queer and trans youth.

Accessibility features this year include:
- ADA seating in front of the main stage
- ASL interpreting on both the main and youth pride stages
- Reserved handicapped parking
- Mobility assistance throughout the venue, by request

VA Pride has also partnered with McShin Foundation to host a Sober Space for those who do not consume alcohol. The Sober Space will feature a craft mocktail bar and other non-alcoholic beverages, snacks, games and shaded seating.

People can purchase VIP tickets to elevate their Pridefest experience. VIP tickets include:
- Access to meet-and-greets with headline entertainers
- Gourmet food from Bar West
- Four drink tickets
- Access to private restrooms
- Relax in an indoor, air-conditioned VIP area with comfortable seating

Richmond’s oldest and longest-running food festival returns for a family-friendly weekend of Armenian delicacies and culture Oct. 3 and 4.

The 65th Annual Armenian Food Festival features food prepared by members of St. James Armenian Church.

Taste chicken shish kabobs, cheese boreg, Armenian meat pies, stuffed grape leaves, mouth-watering pastries, and the famous and original Hye Burger — named one of Richmond’s best burgers on voter lists.

The festival also features traditional music and dancing. Armenian beer and wine are available. Admission is free, pay as you go.

Everyone is welcome Friday and Saturday. The festival is held at the corner of Pepper and Patterson avenues, at 834 Pepper Ave.

The 2nd Street Festival will return this fall to celebrate its 37th anniversary, Saturday-Sunday, October 4-5! The festival celebrates the rich culture of the historic Jackson Ward neighborhood in Downtown Richmond, VA. This FREE event is produced by Venture Richmond Events.

Each year thousands visit historic Jackson Ward to reminisce about the days when 2nd Street was the heart and soul of Richmond's African American community and was known as “the Harlem of the South.” Today, Jackson Ward continues to be a thriving neighborhood and community. The 2nd Street Festival is an annual celebration over two days that features three stages of live musical entertainment along with a Kidz Zone, popular food vendors, a marketplace and Artists Row to shop, and the Richmond Metropolitan Antique Car Club.

  • Saturday, October 4 from 11:30am - 7:00pm

  • Sunday, October 5 from 12:00pm - 6:00pm

2nd Street Festival Location

In the historic Jackson Ward neighborhood, within an eight-block area along N. 2nd Street between E. Broad and E. Jackson Streets in Downtown Richmond.

Admission

The 2nd Street Festival is a FREE event. Food, drink and merchandise are available for sale.

No Pets

DO NOT BRING PETS (other than service animals) to the festival. We expect large crowds and your pets will be more comfortable at home.

What Can I Bring With Me?

  • Items that are permitted include, but are not limited to:

  • FOLDING CHAIRS ARE RECOMMENDED – we ask that you bring your own portable chair to comfortably enjoy the live music.

  • Ponchos and small, personal umbrellas are permitted in the case of rain.

What Can I Not Bring With Me?

  • Items that are not permitted include, but are not limited to:

  • No pets (official service animals are permitted)

  • No coolers, or large backpacks

  • No alcohol

  • No bottles/glass containers

  • No illegal substances, illicit goods, fireworks, weapons, guns, knives or laser pointers will be permitted at the event and violators will be held accountable and prosecuted by state and federal law.

  • No flying objects (drones, kites, Frisbees, footballs, etc.)

  • No riding bikes or scooters through the festival site

Downtown Richmond Parking

  • There is no dedicated event parking, but around the festival site there are surface parking lots and available on-street parking, specifically on the south side of E. Broad Street between Foushee Street and N. 5th Street. There is also a parking deck at 5th and Marshall Streets behind the Richmond Marriott.

  • We advise festival attendees to use the GRTC Pulse bus service which has a stop at 2nd and E. Broad Streets.

  • Rideshare services are also advised. Best drop off address for rideshare is: 124 E. Broad St., Richmond, 23219

  • Be sure to check out our Downtown Richmond Transportation Guide to determine the best way to get to the event and around the city of Richmond during the 2nd Street Festival!

Emergency service centers are available at the festival.

Restrooms

Portable restrooms are located throughout the festival. Free hand sanitizer will be available at these locations.

Your Presence Is Your Permission

Special photographers and videographers have been hired by festival organizers to document the event. Some images may be used in later promotional materials. Your presence at the event is seen as your permission for such promotional use by the nonprofit organizers.
