The VMHC is thrilled to host the exclusive Mid-Atlantic engagement of Barbie™: A Cultural Icon, a major exhibition tracing the 65-year history of Barbie® through fashion, media, and cultural evolution.
This vibrant, multi-sensory experience celebrates one of the most iconic and influential figures in global popular culture. Drawn from the private collection of David Porcello and Mattel, the exhibition features more than 250 vintage dolls, immersive environments, original fashion designs, advertisements, ephemera, and exclusive designer interviews.
Visitors to the exhibition will trace the evolution of Barbie® from a child’s toy to a global icon, exploring the style trends, careers, and identities that Barbie® has embodied and popularized since her debut in 1959.
