The Free Clinic of Powhatan invites the community to lace up and give back as the Good Medicine 5K & One Mile Walk returns on Saturday, Sept. 26.
Following a successful inaugural year that drew nearly 250 participants and raised $20,000 to support patient care, the event is back with expanded offerings and a renewed focus on community health and wellness.
Early bird registration is now open, with discounted pricing available through Aug. 30: $25 for the 5K and $15 for the one-mile fun walk. Participants of all fitness levels are encouraged to join, whether running competitively or walking with friends and family.
“Last year showed us what’s possible when a community comes together,” said Samantha Donald, Development Manager. “This event is about more than a race, it’s about ensuring our neighbors have access to the care and support they need to live healthy, stable lives.”
In addition to the race, attendees can enjoy the expanded Fresh Start Fair, featuring local vendors, community resources, and health-focused offerings, including new additions such as food trucks and wellness partners.
Proceeds from the event benefit the Free Clinic of Powhatan, which provides no-cost medical, dental and behavioral health services, as well as nutrition support programs, to uninsured and underinsured individuals across Powhatan and surrounding counties.
Sponsorship opportunities are still available for local businesses and organizations looking to support community health while gaining visibility at the event.
