Richmond’s oldest and longest-running food festival returns for a family-friendly weekend of Armenian food and culture Sept. 18-19.
The 66th Armenian Food Festival features dishes prepared by members of St. James Armenian Church, with proceeds benefiting local and international charitable causes.
Menu highlights include chicken shish kebabs, cheese boreg, Armenian meat pies, stuffed grape leaves, homemade hummus, pastries, and the original Hye Burger — a longtime favorite on Richmond “best burger” lists. The menu includes vegan options.
The festival also showcases traditional music and dancing. Armenian beer and wine will be available. Admission is free; food and beverages are available for purchase.
Established in 1958, the festival takes place at the corner of Pepper and Patterson avenues, at 834 Pepper Ave.
