Brambly Park

Brambly Park is located on a two- acre park setting in Scott’s Addition. This urban winery is an oasis in the midst of the city. It’s also dog and family-friendly, making it one of our new go-to spots.

Not only is Brambly Park a winery, but it’s also a full-service restaurant and event venue. Currently, their wine is sourced from grape juice that comes from their partner vineyards in Virginia, California, Oregon, Spain, and South America. Their wine list currently consists of Rose, Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay,  Riesling, Pinot Noir, and Cabernet Sauvignon.

Brambly Park’s wine labels are inspired by imaginary characters that live, work, and play in Scott’s Addition —  just like you! Their menu includes small plates, brunch, and entrees inspired by traditional Italian cuisine.

In addition to serving their own Brambly Park label wine, they also offer beer, craft cocktails, and wines from all around the world!

Their space is quite impressive. They have an indoor restaurant, a covered outdoor patio, and a park area with an adorable lawn — you would never know that you were in Scott’s Addition!

Their outdoor area is designed to look and sound like a train station, which is so fitting, since trains pass right by all the time. Additionally, they have outdoor games to partake in like croquet, bocci, cornhole, Giant Jenga, and more. Picnic tables are set up right in front of a stage where you can enjoy live music.

Location: 1708 Belleville Street (Scott’s Addition)

Hours: Monday - Thursday, 4 pm - 9 pm; Friday, 3 pm - 10 pm; Saturday - Sunday, 11 am - 10 pm

Garden Grove Brewing Company & Urban Winery

Garden Grove Brewing Company & Urban Winery, located in Carytown, prides itself on being ingredient-driven, always natural, local, and organic-centric.

Garden Grove began back in 2010 when the owner, Ryan, traveled to Europe and visited local breweries, which inspired him to share amazing brews with Richmond. In March of 2013, he wrote out a business plan, found a brewer, and they opened their current location in Carytown in 2015.

They have a variety of beers on tap that are all totally unique — Kevin, the head brewer, does an amazing job playing around and experimenting with different ingredients and flavors.

Since then, the folks at Garden Grove have added wine, honey wine (aka mead), and cider to their lineup, as well. In 2016, they applied for their farm winery license and partnered with Arterra Winery in Delaplane, VA.

From there, Garden Grove launched their phenomenal wine line in 2017 to include Chardonnay, Petit Verdot, Petit Manseng, and a blend called Adaptation. Their cider was launched in March of 2019 and is crafted using Virginia Gold Rush apples, a variety that has the acidity to make an outstanding cider.

If you are into tours, their staff loves to educate guests about Garden Grove’s philosophy of craft beer and wine. Tours are given on request, as long as they’re not too busy!

If you come hungry, they have a selection of meats, cheeses, nuts, and crackers off their snack menu. They also welcome take-out, delivery, or picnics to pair with their wine or beer.

Location: 3445 W Cary St (Carytown)

Hours: Monday - Wednesday, 4 pm -10 pm; Thursday, 4 pm - 11 pm, Friday - Saturday, 12 pm - 1 am; Sunday, 12 pm - 10 pm
