What makes Virginia Distilled a unique tasting experience?
1 - Beyond tasting some of Virginia’s best craft spirits, guests can also taste and vote on cocktail creations from the final five contestants of the 2025 Virginia Cocktail Games and help us crown Virginia’s 2025 Cocktail of the Year.
2 - In celebration of America’s 250th birthday in 2026, the Virginia Spirits community has come together to create a commemorative, limited edition three bottle set of spirits that are historically significant in the Commonwealth: whiskey, gin, and rum. Three of Virginia’s most talented distillers (all of whom won gold medals in Virginia Spirits’ inaugural First Landing Cup earlier this year) each lead a team of Virginia distillers to develop each spirit and each team lead will present an educational session discussing the historical significance of each spirit and the process of creating each for this special celebration.
Amanda Beckwith, Master Blender at Virginia Distillery Company will talk about the blended whiskey her team is creating.
Barry Haneberg, founder and distiller at Virago Spirits, will discuss the history of rum in the Commonwealth and the aged rum his team has created.
Peter Ahlf, owner and distiller at Mt. Defiance Distillery will discuss gin’s role in Virginia’s past and how his team is creating a gin that truly reflects Virginia’s terroir using indigenous botanicals.
VIP guests will have access to the event one hour before General Admission ticket holders and entrance to the VIP Lounge with scrumptious appetizers and non-alcoholic beverages.
All guests will receive a tasting glass and access to the tasting tent as well as after-hours access to museum galleries including the newest exhibitions, Give Me Liberty: Virginia & The Forging of a Nation and Un/Bound: Free Black Virginians, 1619-1865.
