PRIDE PERSISTS will be held at The Workshop (the former Studio Two Three space) in Scott’s Addition.
This event and venue change will also be a form of protest & continued action + solidarity with Danni, the former employee of Diversity Richmond who faced acts of racism and sexual harassment and lost her job due to lack of action and accountability from Diversity leadership.
Please JOIN us and numerous artists, orgs, food folks, and allies on June 29th 12-5pm at the Workshop in Scott’s Addition and help us show Diversity/VA Pride that we are NOT afraid to take a stand to demand accountability from what should be our city’s safe space for ALL LGBTQ+ community.
There is NO PRIDE without Black Women & Femmes.
An upcoming event we were slated to be partnering with on Saturday 6/28, Love on Tap has long been a partnership with Hardywood Brewery and VA Pride with TransJam organizing the makers market at the event. The event is said to serve as a celebration of the anniversary of Marriage Equality.
Due to recent harm caused by Diversity Richmond and their partnership with VA Pride along with our multiple attempts to communicate with both Diversity & VA Pride with no real, meaningful response or action —
We will not align our organization with theirs until they make corrective repairs and so we will be pulling out of Hardywood x Va Pride’s Love on Tap Event.
As this weekend is the anniversary of not only National Marriage Equality, but also the anniversary of the Stonewall Uprising, which was led by Black Trans Femmes — we are pivoting to hold an alternative event that TRULY celebrates all queer people and our rich history, much of which we owe to Black trans women.
Our values cannot and will not be compromised to put profit over people.
